 Summary 

A continuing resolution (CR) has been enacted to begin fiscal year (FY) 2024. It expires on November 17. Given the current political and budget landscapes, it is unlikely that 12 appropriations bills will be enacted by that date. Accordingly, either another CR will be needed, or a government shutdown will occur.

This brief provides information on how individual grant programs could be affected by a federal government shutdown in November.
