FY 2023 Enacted Appropriations and Program Changes: Nutrition

Fiscal year (FY) 2023 appropriations for domestic nutrition programs under the Department of Agriculture (USDA) were provided in Division A of the omnibus appropriations bill signed into law in December (P.L. 117-328). The bill increases funding for most of these programs, with the majority of increases determined by mandatory spending formulas in each program’s authorizing legislation.
The omnibus included 23 additional bills tacked onto the appropriations package, including one, Division HH, which makes changes to the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) and Child Nutrition programs.
