 Summary 

The Commerce-Justice-Science (CJS) appropriations bill includes funding for state and local grants in the Department of Commerce (DOC), the Department of Justice (DOJ), and other federal agencies, including the Census Bureau. The House has approved a fiscal year (FY) 2020 CJS appropriations bill as part of a “minibus” that also includes Agriculture, Interior-Environment, Military Construction-Veterans, and Transportation-Housing and Urban Development (HUD). The Senate has yet to consider any appropriations bills.

This brief describes House funding and policy provisions affecting DOC and DOJ grant programs.
