 Summary 

Many states receive a share of revenues from the production of mineral resources on federal lands. The Department of the Interior (DOI) announced $2.44 billion in fiscal year (FY) 2019 payments to states, a 37% increase from the prior year. New Mexico received nearly 50% of total payments to states, and 16 states received no payment.
