January 3, 2011:  DHS OIG Issues Report on ARRA Funds for Transit Security Grant Program The DHS Office of Inspector General (OIG) released a report that provides information on ARRA funds used by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) under the Transit Security Grant Program and assesses whether FEMA was administering ARRA funds according to plans and requirements. September 10, 2010: DHS Announces Additional ARRA Funded Advanced Imaging Technology Deployments

June 11, 2010: DHS Announces Additional Funding for Fire Station Construction Grants DHS announced approximately $11.9 million in ARRA funding for Fire Station Construction Grants. These grants are in addition to the $166 million announced in September 2009 and the $23 million announced in February 2010. May 14, 2010: DHS Announces Additional Deployments of ARRA-Funded Advanced Imaging Technology DHS has announced the deployments of Advanced Imaging Technology (AIT) at 28 additional airports. The first 11 airports to receive these ARRA-funded technologies was announced by DHS this past March. For more information, go to:

July 29, 2009: ARRA Money for Transit Security Grant Program Secretary Napolitano announced nearly $78 million in awards for the ARRA FY 2009 Transit Security Grant Program (TSGP). Funding is provided for approximately 240 new law enforcement officers at 15 transit systems across the country. Funds for the program will be used by transit agencies to hire new law enforcement officers and by police departments with dedicated transit bureaus to hire anti-terrorism personnel, purchase anti-terrorism equipment and obtain and train explosive detection canines. July 28, 2009: Airport Closed Circuit TV Funding DHS Secretary Napolitano, announced approximately $7.7 million in ARRA funding for closed-circuit television systems at Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International, Ronald Reagan Washington National, Spokane International, Gerald R. May 29, 2009: FEMA Grants DHS released application guidance for more than $500 million in Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) preparedness grants funded by ARRA. The guidance includes $150 million for the Port Security Grant Program (grant application due June 29, 2009), $150 million for the Transit Security Grant Program (grant applications due June 15, 2009 for the operational package and June 29, 2009 for capital projects), and $210 million for the Fire Station Construction Grant Program (grant application due July 10, 2009).
