Last night the Senate passed H.R. 5021 by a vote of 79-18, after adopting two amendments:
- The Wyden-Hatch amendment (71-26), which substitutes the Senate Finance Committee’s revenue transfers and offsets.
- The Carper-Corker-Boxer amendment (66-31), which shortens the extension to December 19, 2014, and cuts $3 billion in funding.
The amended bill now returns to the House with two days remaining before Congress leaves town for its five-week August recess. The House can accept the amended bill, modify it, or reject it and return the original House-passed bill to the Senate before the end of the week.
