President Signs Two-Month Extension for TANF, UI, QI, TMA

On December 23, 2011, the president signed legislation (H.R. 3765) to extend the payroll tax cut and other programs for two months. Specifically, the law temporarily extends unemployment insurance (UI) benefits, Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) and related programs, and Qualified Individual (QI) and Transitional Medical Assistance (TMA).
